Berkshire County, MA-Berkshire Bounty is pleased to announce several awards from area foundations in support of our operations and our Food Purchase Program, including Fallon Health’s Community Impact Grants program, Sincere Foundation, the Mabel Louise Riley Foundation, Greylock Federal Credit Union, and the Josephine and Louise Crane Family Foundation.

“While having access to healthy and nutritious should be something that everyone has access to, sadly, we know this isn’t always the case. This is why Greylock is deeply proud to support the efforts of Berkshire Bounty. Whether through their collaborations with local emergency food sites throughout the county or the Berkshire Mobile Farmers Market, Berkshire Bounty works tirelessly to remove barriers to food access,” said JamieEllen Moncecchi, Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at Greylock Federal Credit Union.

“We’re proud to partner with Berkshire Bounty to expand access to healthy and culturally inclusive food sources for individuals and families with limited economic means. Recognizing the unique barriers in rural areas like the Berkshires and the crucial role food and nutrition security play in health, we believe the Community Impact Grant will significantly advance our shared efforts for better and more equitable outcomes,” said Cheryl Schmaltz, Community Engagement Manager at Fallon Health.

This grant is essential as food insecurity rates continue to increase in our region. Berkshire Bounty’s emergency food site partners consistently report growing numbers of people requesting food assistance and the need for more food to meet the growing demand.

“We are so grateful to our supporters for this funding, which will be used for food purchases and for the implementation of the Food Purchase Program, a cornerstone Berkshire Bounty program that allows us to increase the amount of food distributed to emergency food sites in the Berkshires,” says Mark Lefenfeld and Jay Weintraub, co-Founders and President and Member-At-Large of the Berkshire Bounty board.
